"Orange Breeze" Apartment
Location: Stöberplatz, Vienna
Area: 68m² + 6m² balcony
Design: 2021-2022
Realization: 2023
Idea:
Revitalization of a historic tenement house in the center of Vienna, involving the reconstruction of the interior of a former workers' hotel, and giving a contemporary function to the existing context. The project includes four apartments for short-term rental. A visual identification was created for the investment, adopting the use of the leitmotif of color in each apartment, while maintaining the coherence of the entire concept. The design challenge was the building itself, which was not adapted to the modern conditions of use, including: the narrow route of the building, the lack of sanitary facilities in the premises and the problematic light exposure, or the lack of it in the interiors. Counteracting today's disgraceful standards of constantly reducing living space, we decided to combine smaller studios into spacious, fully functional apartments.
Description of the apartment:
A spacious two-bedroom apartment with a dedicated work space in each, allowing up to six people to stay in comfortable conditions. The bright space enhanced by a vivid palette of colors and multi-colored terrazzo positively affects potential tenants. A living room connected to a café balcony, from which there is a view of the inner green courtyard of the tenement house. Thanks to the use of a glass-brick wall between the kitchenette and the main bedroom, both rooms have been additionally naturally illuminated while maintaining appropriate intimacy for the function of each of them.
