Mediterranean House

Location: Niepolomice, Poland

Area: 254m² + 38m² garage

Design: 2025

Realization: 2026

Inspired by the architecture of southern Italy, the country house responds to the need for respite from the intensity of urban life. Located in the surroundings of the Niepolomice Forest, thanks to its minimalist form and the use of natural materials — facade stone and slate roofing — it harmoniously blends into the calm, idyllic landscape. The building's location and function were determined by both the narrow plot and the investor's precisely defined needs. The garage, jutting out towards the road, creates a natural barrier that discreetly separates the living area from the street and providing the residents a sense of privacy. Between the volumes, a glazed passageway was placed, housing a hall with interior greenery. As a result, a space that usually serves solely a communication becomes a place of relaxation and a natural extension of the building’s living area. The living room with a high ceiling was opened toward the main part of the garden and illuminated with representative, panoramic glazing. The upper floor constitutes almost entirely the private space of the lady of the house. It contains a comfortable bedroom with a bathroom, as well as a separate exercise area and a spacious dressing room connected to a work studio.
