The apartment design for a couple is a cohesive amalgam of Mid-Century Modern and Wabi-Sabi influences. The base in earth tones, warmed by jewel-like accents of brass and fluted glass, harmoniously interacts with a respect for design craftsmanship and the honesty and imperfection of structural clay plasters—characteristic of Japanese aesthetics—from a local manufactory, which constitute a unique background for the entire composition. The dark green ceiling in the main corridor has been juxtaposed with a wallpaper featuring an elegantly embossed pattern inspired by banana leaves.
